Putting the Garden to Bed

  • The Concept: "Apply Self-Regulation & Accept Feedback."
  • The Workshop: Analysing what worked and what didn't. Lasagna style gardening (sheet mulching)  & other ways to build soil over winter. Garlic planting.

11am-2pm - Refreshments served.

The Edge Effect (Hedges & Boundaries)

  • The Concept: "Use Edges and Value the Marginal."
  • The Workshop: Preparing & planting bare-root trees and taking hardwood cuttings.  Why the "edge" of the garden is the most biodiverse part. Utilising vertical edges and fences.

  • The Concept: "Creatively Use and Respond to Change."
  • The Workshop: Using natural materials (dried flowers, willow, holly) to create wreaths and gifts. Reflecting on the year's changing seasons through seed selection and celebrating the winter solstice.
