Monthly Newsletter • March 2026

Welcome

Hello Gardeners,

March has arrived, and while the Donegal wind and rain might be trying their best to convince us otherwise, the garden is officially waking up! We’re starting to see those first resilient shoots pushing through the damp soil, signalling the start of a brand-new growing season. For all of us It’s a time of transition—swapping the planning notebooks for garden gloves , our slippers for warm wellies and preparing our beds for the busy months ahead. We are so ready to get back into the rhythm of the seasons with you all and look forward to you all joining us this year on our journey of growing our own food !

A Warm Welcome to the Donegal Women’s Collective

We are particularly excited this month to welcome the Donegal Women’s Collective to the garden on Saturday, 21st March.

After four weeks of intensive online learning covering all the basics of growing your own food, the group is finally coming on-site to put that theory into practice! We can’t wait to see the "virtual" knowledge turn into "real-world" growth.

It’s a joy to have such a passionate group of women joining our community, and we look forward to a fantastic day of hands-on learning together and thanks as always goes to the amazing Danielle Bonnar for all the continued support and work that goes on behind the scenes!

Volunteer Day at OURganic Gardens

Friday 27th March at 1pm

Looking to get some fresh air, learn new skills, and meet like-minded people? We are opening our gates at OURganic Gardens for a series of community volunteer afternoons!

Whether you are a seasoned gardener or have never picked up a trowel, everyone is welcome. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get your hands dirty, share some laughs, and contribute to our local sustainable food project.
